Terms of Use
Effective October 21, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Workbench LLC, doing business as WorkBench Studios ("we", "us"), and govern your use of the Hebrew in Context mobile app (the "App") and related websites. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.
1. Who can use the App
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms.
2. Your account
You may use the App as a guest or create an account with Google sign-in or an email and password. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity on your account. Give accurate information and tell us at hebrewincontext@gmail.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.
Guest progress is stored only on your device. If you uninstall the App or lose your device before creating an account, guest progress may be lost and we cannot recover it.
3. Free content and purchases
Part of the App is free with no time limit. Full access is available as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the App before you buy.
- Billing. All purchases are processed by Google Play under Google Play's terms. We never receive your payment details.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. You can cancel any time in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions. Canceling stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Lifetime access means access to the full App for as long as we offer and support it, on the account used to buy it.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policies. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
- Price changes. We may change prices. Google Play will notify you before any change to a subscription you already have.
4. Our content
The App's stories, characters, lessons, exercises, artwork, audio recordings, design and software are owned by Workbench LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own learning.
The Hebrew biblical text is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex, which is in the public domain. Our presentation of it, including vowel display, audio, glosses and lesson materials, is our own work.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Copy, redistribute, sell or publicly share the App's lessons, stories, artwork or audio, except for short quotations for personal study or review.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract the App's source code, except where the law allows it.
- Get around purchase checks or unlock paid content without paying.
- Interfere with the App's servers or other users' accounts, or use the App for anything unlawful.
Teachers and parents are welcome to use the App alongside their own students and children.
6. Educational purpose
The App is a language-learning tool. Translations and glosses are given to help you learn and are not a complete or authoritative translation of Scripture. The story is a work of fiction written to teach vocabulary; it does not retell the biblical account.
7. Changes and availability
We are always improving the App and may add, change or remove features or content. We try to keep the App available but don't guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. If we ever stop offering the App, we will give reasonable notice where we can.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time (see our account deletion page). Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription; cancel that in Google Play. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms.
9. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise any particular learning result.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Workbench LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data or progress. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll update the effective date and notify you in the App before it takes effect. Continuing to use the App after that means you accept the updated Terms.
